Bill L: Thanks for your kind words, however, I think you are selling yourself a little short.  I was very impressed with your F-15 and the work you have done on your Thunderbolt.  The interior of your P-47 was outstanding, and the wiring of the engine was also.  To answer your question about the contest, I won a 1st place in 1/72nd scale bombers with an HE111-6.  Thanks again for the kind words. Woody G.

I won:
1st in 1/72 scale biplanes Fokker DR1 (only entry),
1st in sailing ships with New Bedford Whaler (only entry)
1st in Real Space with Jupiter C (2 entries)
1st and 2nd in 1/72 scale wheeled vehicles with a WW1 ambulance and scout car (3 entries)
3rd in open wheel competition with 1916 Mercedes Race car (numerous entries)
I only bought a Book, "G For George" about RAAF Lancaster Bomber Crews
It was a good show, but I expected more competition.

I would just like to offer my thanks and appreciation to the members of this club that participated in yesterdays Regional Contest in Fayetteville.  The talent in this club never ceases to amaze me, and reminds me that there is much I have to learn.

I spoke to the guys sponsoring the contest and they really appreciate our support and participation.  I expressed our appreciation of their support as well, not to mention that they have some very talented modelers too.

I will say that I was some-what underwhelmed with the vendors and the overall turn out for a Regional event of this nature.  Obviously the economy is having a huge impact on this hobby, and contests of this nature.

Still, I was able to score two AMT S-3A's Viking's really cheap, and there were some good deals to be had, especially by two local club gentlemen reducing their model stash.  Naturally I had to help them out. :)

So please post back to this thread and let everyone know if you participated, how you did, what deals you found, if any.  I'll post some of the pictures I took to the gallery later today.

Thanks
Bill L.
