Yeah Lee I am sure they will show up in the next year or so at a lower price. From what I can see the decal companies are starting to release some nice markings for the kit. Should be fun to see some of these show up at the club and contest tables.

I built the Pacific Coast Models Spitfire IXc last year, and have another in the stash with a resin conversion to make into a bubble-top XVI.  At $60 each, they are a reasonably priced alternative to the Tamiya kit, which is going for around $115 mail order.  That said, the guys that I know that have purchased the Tamiya Spitfire do indeed say its the finest aircraft model kit ever made.

Rather than socks and underwear, don't you deserve a Tamiya Spitfire IXc under the Christmas tree?  We've all been good boys...   ;D

If you can wait a couple of years, one will show up at a contest vendor's table for under $100.  It always happens.

Has anybody forked out the 150 bucks for this kit yet? The reviews say it is the best kit made in the history of mankind. Maybe I will get one next year when the price settles down a little.
