Hey Joe,you mean to tell me your Do-17 didn't place?I was talking to a couple of guys and they thought that there might have been only 300 or so entries on the tables. The high entry fees are what kept me from entering,I also found it hard to navigate around the vendor tables.AMPS is having their national convention there next year. They are going to need alot more space than the show there yesterday.

Hi Guys,

Some comments and pictures from the show...

Overall seemed to be a decent turn out. I liked several things at their show and there were a couple of things that could have been done better. The biggest downside was the cost to get in. $23 as an IPMS member/contestant with eight models. $5 for Katie to enter her model and $8 for Anne to get in as general admission (no family discount), so total for us to enter was $36 - kind of steep! The other critique I would have was their choice of venue. It was awfully cramped and lighting was very poor.

On the plus side, you got a nifty pin on registering, vendor turn out was decent and the quality of models displayed was superb. Katie took first place in the Jr. military category with her P-40 (time to retire that one) and I took third in quarter scale axis single prop with my FW-190F8.

All in all, a fun time. Here's a link to the slideshow of pics I took. Sorry armor guys, batteries ran out as I was getting started on the tank tables...

Congrats on the family awards. Katie is going to be given us all a run for our money.

Regarding this pic,

The modeler posted some background on the story and more pics. http://www.zone-five.net/showthread.php?t=11261

Sorry to hear about your wife Bill. Hope she feels better.

Yeah, I'm working nights (6pm to 6 am) on the manufacturing floor with a rotating schedule working every other weekend. But I missed last month's meeting because I went to the NAS Virginia Beach Airshow all three days. I'm working this weekend but I'll get up in time to make the meeting and then go into work.

I really cannot go. I just have to stay in the local area. My wife has not been feeling to good so I just keep around town.

ClydeM

Ron, missed you at last months meeting. work schedule? clyde

Ronv

Actually I only have a couple of new models. javascript:void(0);

I'm also having problems getting Saturday night off, so it looks like I won't be able to go. I won't really know until I get to work on Friday evening (I'm working nights right now 6pm to 6 am). But if you guys are not entering models and not staying for the awards, it would be all for not anyhow. Oh well let's look forward to Lynchburg!!

Thanks
RonV

Shane and I are going but we are not entering,we are just going up to look at models and visit the vendors then leave around 3 or so.Entry fees cost to much.

Thanks
