Yeah Ryan, the landing gear, wheels, tail, and ordnance all look straight. Clyde had showed me how to use pastel powder to highlight the panel lines and that's what I used on mine. It came out a little too heavy, so less is better. Also the inks we talked about are water soluble but please test them on something else before using them.

Thanks Ron, I plan to try one of those ideas as the last step.

Finished decaling....it is only four so it wasn't a big chore still need much practice. I keep wanting to add the stars and bars but from the photos they were not added and I can't find any google photos of the unit to see them added.

Also finished the yellow prop tip colors.

Flat coated

Some alignment issues but hey the tires are straight.

Last step to add some light wash/weather and done.

Thanks for the info. Once Gator Grip (http://www.gatorsmask.com/gatorglueorder.html) set everything is good now.

Will keep the wheels in mind when I reattach them.

On the one I built last year I had to replace the antenna with a piece of brass rod and stiffen the landing gear with brass rod. Also watch the wheels on the main landing gear when you attach them, they tend to splay outward. I noticed this on the other ones that were entered in our contest last May.

Looking good, Ryan.  Any chance of replacing the landing struts with stiff wire?  Or maybe drilling them out and inserting a piece of brass wire down the length to give some more strength?

Looking at the photos there was some more little details that needed to added.

On the Hooligan MQ's they have notched angled tails. With a pencil and dividers I marked out the rectangle needed. I used the the UMM saw and scriber to cut the sides and bend the pieces out. Then used some files to try to recreate the different curves on the tails. I also knocked the antenna off again. It wasn't a bad thing because I had it flush on the front and it should have extended over the front end. Now it is on and painted.

There is also two more intakes on top. I drilled out the sprue, then cut to length, glued on, then sanded rear portion to blend in.

Hung some missiles and where the missing paint is a small cylinder made of sprue on each side of the landing gear.

Final photo is of the FLIR turret, used some material left over from the LAV build I did to add that multi color hue.

Some small detail painting left (landing gear cylinder, gun cameras on the wing, tire hubs, red collision beacon on top, and two silver strobe lights(?) the silver thing behind the antenna) and then decals.

I painted it lt gray not to long after the post and then it somehow went to the shelf of doom, now I am trying to finish off another one for the year.

After looking at the references I saw it had a different antenna on top. Using some fine wire I think I have it or I am not going to mess with it any more unless I knock it off.....again. (updated....I knocked it off again..ugh)

Not pictured is an air intake on the other side that I drilled out.

I need to repaint some lt gray for the pitot tube and other small bits added. Add some color for the flir camera. Paint the props tips yellow. Then decal.

I am having issues with the rear landing gear staying where I want them, they keep bending out til the tail hits the ground. I am hoping after overnight it will set and stay in place. I am thinking about making some chocks to help with the issue on a small base.

Here is what I am going for.

Not too much painting on that one.  Gray, with some details like wheels and propeller.  I think you're on a roll, dude.

Yes, I have started yet another kit before finishing the one I need to do. Yea another stupid bet.

The Accurate Miniatures Predator MQ-1 kit http://www.ipmsusa3.org/reviews2/aircraft/kits/accmin_72_predator-uav/accmin_72_predator-uav.htm. I plan to use the Wolfpak Decals for 178 RS, North Dakota ANG Happy Hooligans.http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/decals/wp/wp1210.htm

No promises but I might have it done before the next meeting. Surely can't take as long as the last one...... right.  ::)
