Guys,I got a 1st with my KV-II vignette and Shane got a 3rd with his Ki-84 vignette.Woody's right about the trophys,they got nice ones.I've won a couple of their best of trophys with pix of my models on em.

I won a trophy for second palce with a FW 190 in 1/32 scale. There were only three models in the category though. I had a great time and thanks for the lift Woody. I did make out in the raffle though. Ten dollars in tickets won me a Hasegawa 1/48 F-14 and a bunch of paint and stuff.

Hey Guys, it was a fun show... always good to see our club members at these events. I concur with Woody's assessment of the vendors; I had hoped that more of them would have been present, especially those selling airplane kits. The raffle was decent - Ron got some pretty decent picks from that table (a total social injustice, right Spanky and Shane?) .

I was also able to place in each of the categories that I entered and took the following;

1st - Rigged Aircraft  with the Albatros D.V (wood finish)
2nd - 1/48 single engine prop - Axis - with my FW-190A8
2nd - 1/72 multi engine prop - with my DO-17Z
3rd - 1/48 single engine prop - with my F4U Corsair
3rd - 1/48 Jet - with my Me-262

Also, congrats to those who placed!

congrats to all the winners at Lynchgurg. I'm not sure what the next level is Ron. you already collect more awards than most of the members in our club.   Oh, I forgot, you have to actually build a model and take it to a contest to win. cheers

Guys: Eagle Squadron did well, as usual, at Lynchburg. 6 Guys showed models and I think we won 21 awards, with Ron Verburg being the big winner with 10 or 11. He has improved tremendously. He won a 1st place in a tough ship category with a Revell Nina, and placed 3rd in Rigged Wing with a bunch of planes in that category.  As we all know, he will build anything, and he's really getting better.  One of the highlights of the show were their awards.  The regular awards were very classy, of course with Lucite faces and 4 screws, and the Best ofs were unbelieveable.  What they do is take a photo of the winning model in that category and put it on the trophy, and the plaque is gorgeous too.  The best car actually had a half a piston on the trophy.  This show was really first class: 370 models.  The only weak part of the show were the vendors, not very good. Very few airplanes for sale and lots of cars. I spoke to our vendor buddy from Ohio and the weekend of our show there is also a show in Toledo. One of the car guys seemed interested. I gave him a flyer and told him to email Ryan.  That's it for now. Cheers, Woody G.
