Woody, :D I've got an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS - I think you said you have something similar, so should work. Sure, bring that canopy a bunch of framework on that one, right? I think I also have a couple of spares I can bring to paint.

Joe M: Sorry I had a brain cramp.  I will bring my compressor and hose.  Hope it fits your airbrush; what kind is it? Woody G

Joe M: I will bring my compressor and airbrush because it's quite portable.  I will also bring my Francis canopy for you to do your demo on, if that's OK.  Let me know.  Woody G.

Joe M

I like both suggestions, the show and tell and I can also give a demo canopies if someone can loan a compressor and hose for my airbrush. My set-up is not at all portable.

No problem, Mike.  We'll put your Viper lecture on hold for a later date.

I suggest that Joe M shows us how he does his canopy detailing.

Guys, I know it's late and I'm scheduled to speak more about the F-16, but I found out this morning that I've got to be out of state on a bit of a family emergency this weekend.

Next Meeting

Sunday, March 20, 2010, 1:30 PM
Classroom 126A, Engineering Tech Building, Wake Technical Community College

Last Month's Meeting Highlights

Rudy Tempesta was back for a presentation of a diorama featuring his B-24J, "Oh Forty Nine".  Thanks go to Woody Griffin, Clyde Mills, Spanky McFarland, Joe Marranca, Lee Griffin, Ryan Koschatzky, Tony Leger, Lee Kolosna, and William Reece for making another successful contribution to our club's Veteran's Program.  Rudy was thrilled with the piece and told us on the ride home that it was the nicest thing anyone had ever given him.
The Leary vs. Koschatzky Smackdown was concluded as a tie by the judges.  Bill presented a very nice Hasegawa 1/32 scale P-47D and Ryan had an equally nice Revell 1/48 scale F-15E. Both of these, um, completion-challenged modelers produced certifiably done models and therefore we able to avoid the social stigma of not winning the challenge.
Joe Marranca gave a very nice demonstration of how to replicate wood finish on World War I models, a skill that can be applied to any type of model that requires a natural wood effect.

This Month's Meeting

Mike Kopack is back for round 2 of his excellent series: "Everything You Wanted to Know about the F-16, But Were Afraid to Ask".  Here's you opportunity to learn the differences between a NSI and MCID inlet or a WAR or a WAC HUD.  There will be a short test at the end, so you better pay attention!

Dues are due

Annual dues of $20 are due before April 1.  Please see our treasurer Ryan Koschatzky at the meeting this Sunday.  Those of you who wish to mail in your check can address it to:

RDUCON 2011

We are now two months away.  Please volunteer your efforts in any way possible to make this event run smoothly and professionally. It's extremely important for our reputation as well as the future financial heath of IPMS Eagle Squadron.

Build Outside the Norm

Our club is conducting a group build of subjects that we don't normally do.  For example, if you're primarily an armor modeler, you would select a car or a ship, or any subject from a category that you don't normally build.  The idea is to stretch your skills a bit and perhaps gain an appreciation for a different genre.  Any subject is allowed, and all members are welcome to participate.  Completed models will be presented for inspection at the September 18 meeting.
