Glad to hear from you...The CF-101 in the Canadian Aviation Museum is a glossy voodoo grey... They are very anal about their collection so they don't alter stuff.

The Canadian jets were a slightly different shade of grey, that to me looks a little lighter and less blue than ADC Grey. Model Master has Canadian Voodoo Grey, and Hobby Town here in Apex has a couple of bottles of it. Don't know how accurate it is. I just read on the Century Series Yahoo group a week or so ago that the Canadian jets were flat, not gloss. Also, the Canadian jets were FY56 and 57 jets (serial 56-xxxx, etc.) and the Monogram kit is a later FY57 & 59 jet. The only external difference is the earlier jets had a NACA duct for the avionics cooling intake on the lower left side of the nose, just above the left nose gear door. Monogram has the later, sugar scoop-style.

A couple of hints for the kit:
Remove the two bars that connect the intake ducts together. It makes the wing a little less rigid so you can reduce the gaps between the upper wing parts and the fuselage.
The aft parts of the upper & lower parts of the wing needs a lot of sanding and test-fitting where the trailing edges meet at the flaps. The fuselage sides need some work just aft of the wings, too.
Cut off the aft end of the tail fairing and replce it with clear plastic, sanded to shape. It was a clear nav light cover.

Two Mikes is about to release a set of intakes and afterburner nozzles for the kit. It really doesn't need a replacement cockpit.

Hey Clyde,I'm pretty sure they were painted in ADC grey FS#16473 and I think they had a spotlight on the port side of the front of the fuselage.That Monogram kit is a booger bear to build.

hey, one of you exsperts out there. did canadian voodoos cary a flat finish or were they just US hand-me-downs? eh. clyde
