I had the glass case made when my wife ran Majestic Marble and glass.  They did it pro bono for  vet IIRC or very cheaply.

Me and you went to his house and set it up, and repaired his diorama.

Sad to hear of his passing.  His generation will soon be no more.

Call me sometime Ron....been a while...I lost your phone number when my boy sunk to the bottom of the pool and I had too fish him out(cell phone +water =$$)

Just to clarify... I've been talking to Rudy about coming to the October meeting.

Sure wish I could take credit for that glass case but he had it custom built by a professional I believe.  We are losing WWII vets at a shocking level.   It makes me very glad that we were given the opportunity to honor these few men in the way we have.  Wade was a top notch fellow for sure.  As I understand it we have a crew member from the Ploesti raid at the September meeting next month.  So, who's up for building him a B-24?

Slight correction: Wade was a B-17 crew member.  We built a Hasegawa B-17F for him.

Sorry to hear about his passing. He will be missed. I enjoyed listening to his story. I think he did two tours as a ball turret gunner. Pictures are up in the gallery

Sorry to hear about this Woody

Guys: Wade was probably one of our most appreciative recepients of a B-24 Diorama. He was the ball-turret gunner in Europe during WWII.  He liked it so much he had Ronnie put it under glass for him and made it a main feature in his den.  Another of the Greatest Generation gone.  Woody G.
