A 1/48 A3D, T-38, F-5A, and now this. 2012 is going to be a mighty expensive year if all of these kits make it to market!

Ben

What manufacturers are putting these kits out this year?

but the mold is almost finished on our F-94C.

I agree, the 1950's were an incredible era in military aviation (even though it was 15 years before I was born) with a LOT of now mostly forgotten aircraft falling between the Korean War F-86's and the Century Series. The F-94B and C (I believe the main difference was the gun nose on the "B") amongst them. Just think of all of those Interceptor and ANG squadrons... Talk about colorful aircraft on a huge scale! Time to bring back the orange flight suits. The F-89 Scorpion would rank right up there as well.

(Here are the "B" of my hometown "Boys from Syracuse". Sad to think that they keep Reaper UAV's in this same hangar at Hancock Field today.)

Glen, the answer of course is yes! The entire F-80/T-33/F-94 series has been crying out for an upgrade in 1/48 scale.  The old Monogram F-80C kit is long in the tooth and the Hobbycraft T-33 has serious accuracy issues.  The Revell, Aurora, and Lindberg F-94 kits are ancient.  This is an opportunity for a whole new start for these important airplanes.

What a great website, while growing up I had a friend - through the Syracuse IPMS coincidentally - that spent his USAF time flying F-89 Scorpions out of Griffiss. Had some crazy stories to tell, talking about pulling out of dives in the early model aircraft with no hydraulically boosted flight controls pulling the stick with both hands with both feet on the instrument panel. Said that the later models were a lot more comfortable to pull around the sky.

Lee, Great pics....thanks a bunch, Mike it would be very helpful if you could find the Schenectady boys or just their logo on the nose.  I found a couple of color pics from Griffiss AFB in Rome NY.  http://www.millionmonkeytheater.com/F-94homepage.html has all of the serial numbers from A B and C and some pics. You can also find some pics attached with some serial numbers.  They have all of the early forgotten jets as well.  Give a small operational history on each.
Big question is checkerboard decals.....Griffiss 94's had checkerboard rudders, yellow swatch side pods with 3 stars......anyone help with this??
Because of the differences I'm seeing with the B and C I will probably have to do the Griffiss boys.
