I for one would like to see the club ask Mr. Davis to be a guest speaker for one of our upcoming meetings.  The 'Checkertail Clan' was a very interesting Fighter Group and has a unique history.  For example; late in the war a Photo Detachment from the states was attached to the group in Italy with the mission of documenting the group's activities in color.  These guys were supplied with Kodachrome film as well as the means for developing the film.  Then it came to pass that there was a shortage of B&W film for the gun cameras.  The solution was to respliced the Kodachrome film to fit into the gun cameras.  This proved to be successful and resulted in some of the finest gun camera footage of the war, particularly the coverage of strafing missions.  At one time this film was shown at group reunions and good copies may still be floating around with some of the old hands.  Well worth looking into.

Hey fella's, just let me know if you want me to contact Mr. Davis.

Ronnie that would be great, if we can get him for the May 20th meeting that would be even better as that is an open date.
