I was happy. My Fokker Dr1 took a prize and I got to see some of my modeling buds.

Looking forward to Roanoke!

Hey Joe,good seeing you at New Bern. You are right about the competition being stiff with the likes of Chip Jean and Kevin Farris and the rest of the Va.Beach bunch.
How did you do?Shane and I split after grabbing our trinkets.

Thanks guys, I'll forward the congrats on the Katie, when she gets back - she's still at the coast with her grandparents. Must be nice being 9!

That was the second New Bern show I've been to. Very stiff competition in all categories as with one from a couple of years ago!

Great seeing you guys there!

Spanky, Please don't be destressed by this. Our models are judged by a jury of our peers! I made an error in who won at the show.  I forgot Katie Marinaca who won a first in Juniors. Cheers, WoodyG

Hey Woody,do you remember in the not so distant past that folks would ask how we did at such and such contest before the results could even be posted? It seems to me that interest in club participation in these shows has waned. Why,I don't have a clue but when we enter these shows we are representing the Eagle Sqn.Perhaps the next time I enter one of these my club affiliation will be GDI.For those of us who entered and placed is recognition enough.Even though the show was small competition was plenty stiff.

Guys: As usual, Eagle Squadron did very well at the New Bern show despite heavy competition by the boys from Tide Water...Bill, Chip and Kevin.  We won 4 awards in 1/48 aircraft, Joe, Spanky and myself.  Dave Shaw won a trophy in Armor, Shane won 2 awards in 1/72 bombers and Ron Verberg was the hero of the day...he won 6 awards, including several firsts and Best of Carolina on my Mind.  He scratch built an ocean rescue boat from the 1800s and early 1900s on the Carolina coast.  This was quite a feat.  Well done job done by all. Cheers, WoodyG
