The first airplane I ever rode on was a Piedmont DC-3 to Cincinnati from Huntington,WV at Thanksgiving in 1963.I remember what seemed like walking uphill to get to my seat and the turbulence bumped the plane around scaring the hell out of me,I was only 10 years old. The return trip wasn't much better especially coming in for a landing to Huntington airport which is on top of a mountain and it was windy as all get out. Kinda like flying the hump in the CBI
during WWII. Fond memories.

I actually went to the Geneseo Airshow last summer and have plenty of photographs of her if anyone is interested. They stated then that they were trying to get enough funding to fly W7 across the Atlantic.

Growing up in Geneseo, NY I had the opportunity to see many cool aircraft at the local Warplane Museum. Fuddy Duddy, a B-17, was originally located there along with many others before the museum was moved to Elmira, NY and eventually closed. Some of the original founders have started another museum in Geneseo. Here is a related article. Google for anything "Whiskey 7 Geneseo" for more articles.
