Wow, Bill, very sorry you're having all of these troubles. Sounds like you'll be a virtual invalid for a number of months. Wishing you the best and a full recovery.

Sorry about the complications from the first surgery.  Hope you have a good rehab facility.  My Dad us the Rex facility in Apex (closest to me & my sister) - can HIGHLY recommend them, but I think they are a little far for you.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Regards,
Steve

Sorry to hear about this Bill!  I went through this four years ago but without the complications, I can totally understand how frustrating this is.

Let me know if I can do anything to help you out.

Bill, Very sorry to hear of your troubles. If there's anything I can do to help, pls let me know.  Pray for a successful recovery this time.  If I remember, your modeling room is upstairs, maybe a TV table or cardtable and a comfortable chair, you could do something downstairs to help pass time.  Here's to a speedy recovery, Woody G.

Hey Bill -

It sounds like a long and uncomfortable process - I wish you the best of luck.

If you need anything done around the house that you can't do yourself, call me - I'll help you.**    Ron V. has my cell number.

About the no alcohol thing - that stinks.

...and by the way, while I'm on these heavy antibiotics, because they can reek havoc with my kidneys, I can not have ANY alcohol

No beer, bourbon, or scotch... YGTBSM !!!!!!  (Wild Weasel slang if you know it.)

Long story short (well sort of): I will be 'out of pocket' for a good while, and not able to do much, if any modeling.

The bacterial infection in my hip has returned.  The last surgery in October (the 2nd after the original replacement in Jan 2014) apparently didn't get it all.  So I went back into Rex last Monday for what they describe as a 2-Stage hip replacement.  I came home last Friday afternoon.

Stage 1-  They remove 100% of the prosthetic hip, including the cup, the ball and the stem in the top of my femur. They'll replace it with an antibiotic spacer that I'll have for 3-6 months while they treat me with some super antibiotics and voodoo magic. I'll have very limited mobility with a walker. Stairs are out of the question.

Stage 2 - At the end of Stage 1, if they feel they have killed all the bacterial infection, and my femur is healed enough, they'll go back in and do another full hip replacement.  Then Physical Therapy will start all over again.

So, that kinda sums up my 2016.  I will be following you work in our forum for Works in Progress as well as Finished Projects.

Thanks
Bill L.

So my 2016 is kinda stalled. I'll be working from home.  It'll be interesting to see what mobility I have and what the full impact will be, coming out the other side.
