Well done, Dave. The Wake Tech crew really did a great job, and the venue itself is leagues ahead of the typical local contest site.

Dear Ms. Lawson,
I am David Shaw, a 1987 graduate of Wake Tech, and for 10 years a member of the Eagle Squadron; a chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society.  We meet monthly on campus and have enjoyed the long sponsorship of Clif Hinton.  Since 2008 we have held annual model contest  at Wake Tech's main campus  to promote and support our hobby. Our most recent  event was on November 11, and hosted contestants from across the mid-Atlantic .But the  impact of this event goes far beyond  Raleigh; because of our  support  for a non-profit  organization  known  as  Models  for  Troops.  This entity has collected more than 4000lbs of models that have been shipped worldwide  to American troops  in dangerous places in need of relaxation.  Models are also provided to VA hospitals to aid the rehabilitation of injured  service members.  Our contest is a key  collection opportunity for this worthy cause.  Our club could not ask for a better location or facilities.  We would like to bring to your  attention the great admiration our organization has for Ann Zingarelli.  None of this could be possible without her  support.  Ann and her team always provide the very best service, and makes an lasting impression on everyone who attends our event.  The members of the Eagle Squadron, and Models for Troops wanted  to share this with you.

Thank you for support to the community,
David Shaw
