I built 1667 in 1/48 and the big Tamiya jet.

Thanks again to Ronnie and Lt. Col. Teel for setting everything up!

Hello Ronnie & Tony. I am glad to see that the gang had a great time. I am finishing up 88-1687 and I propose to do 3 more F15E kits by June 30. I have the kits and would gladly deliver them to SJAFB to Lt. Col Teel or a representative just to know that they are well received, if that will work. I think that it is great that the club has done this for the folks in the 4th Wing. Let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks

Steve C.

It was a great trip and an honor to be there!

Great tour yesterday it felt good to be able to give some models to the base as our thanks for what they do. We all felt special being there and they were delighted with the models. They have asked for names of all those who built the models so if I could get a list of who made what I'll send it on.

name, model, subject (ie tail num)

regards,
Tony

I'll have to pass on the trip due to medical issues. I hope all have a good time & bring back many good pics.

Mine will not be visible under my flight suit so if you see me heading towards a line of fighter jets do not blow my cover.  I'll be grinning under that oxygen mask and humming the theme song from Top Gun.  guys, please remember to bring your models and cameras.

Could I ask all that are going tomorrow if possible to wear their club shirt. I think this would another good way to highlight the club.

Well, the clouds parted and the sun shined brightly on my Thursday.  I will be there.

Tony, on giving any good model a good home I'll bet there will be servivcemen there that would like to have one.  As for driving time from RDU, I'd allow myself about three days (haw haw).  Honestly, from my home near Clayton it  takes 45 minutes to an hour so you should figure close to two hours in case there are traffic problems.
Scott said we might want to bring crackers, soda or candy bars as snacks cause this will be a rolling tour and we might get hungry, they will have bottled water in a cooler.  There are no hats allowed on the flight line so when the demo is taking place you'll want to have sunglasses and possibly sun screen for your dome if you're "follicle challenged" like me.  The weather forecast for Thursday is warm and muggy with some clouds but since we're getting an early start it'll probably be comfortable for us.  Hawk is bringing 3 or 4 of his high ranking, retired Air Force buddies from the Tuskegee association.  This trip should provide plenty of good photo ops so don't forget the camera.  We will be up close and personal with the jets and photos are allowed for all situations except for the F-15 cockpit.

I'll have Bill's F-15 with me...as for the other models to donate would it need to be a 4th FW plane? I have an F-117 that needs a home....

p.s. whats a good drive time estimate from RDU at that early hour

If anybody has a model that they want to donate please contact me or somebody else in the model club and we'll see to it that the 4th Fighter Wing gets it.   They have several pilots and crewmen that are jumping at the chance to have one.

Hello Ronnie. I've had a set back with the Mad Duck, but I'd like to come with or without him. The trip depends on the weather forecast for Thursday. I suppose that they fly a "low altitude" routine if the clouds are at least 6-10K. If anyone else wants to take my tour slot and is waiting for the chance, I'll step aside, but at last count we didn't have 10. IF the weather gods approve, I'll see the gang in Goldsboro. Let's pray for tar heel blue sky (apologies to DOOK fans)

Work issues are also nipping at my heels.  I would say I have moved to the "doubtful" category.  I will know definitively Wednesday afternoon.  :-[
