My condolences as well, and a salute to both your Uncles Bill and Jim, and to all those who have served.

Had a good friend while growing up - Syracuse IPMS guy - who flew Scorpions at Griffiss in Rome, NY. Incredible stories about flying the big Northrops.

Hi Clyde. I did not get to visit the museum. But I bet your model is outstanding and I am sure they are very proud to have it on display. I am sure my uncle saw it when he took the tours around though.

Bill, did you happen to see a diorama of a bomber field while at the museum. I built the lead b-17 while a member of IPMS Atlanta. Sorry about your uncle. we are loosing not only our loved ones but a link to history. clyde

I visited that museum with my kids.  Though I would not have known him, I wonder if we crossed paths.

I just got home from Savannah. My Uncle Bill passed away and I will really miss him. He was a WW2 vet who served with the 8th Air Force in England during the war. He also volunteered as a guide for the 8th Air Force museum in Pooler GA. I did not know that Savannah was the birth place of the 8th AF!

Also saw my Uncle Jim who was an F-89 "Scorpion" pilot in upstate New York and he also flew the F-86 Sabre in Germany and with the National Guard in the States. He flew for many years with Eastern and he retired when Eastern went under. He has alzhimers now and he is getting old and his memory is fading but he still had some great stories to tell me about flying the F-89 and Sabre.

I will miss them both dearly.
