Basic run down a 1880 mobile artillery piece.

A friend in Bulgaria designed and 3D printed two guns pieces for me, a 3.7 cm and 5.7 cm guns. I am attempting to make the 3.7 gun standalone and the 5.7 gun in a little vignette emplacement with a figure in the pit.
First up is the 3.7 cm. I painted it with no primer and when applying later weathering disliked the results so I have re primed the gun. The base is a block from HobbyLobby/Michael’s painted with primer. Next is to paint it black then on the top brown and earth colors with some pigments. The “track” is evergreen strips of angle iron, strips and rod. While it functions like a rail track, it doesn’t appear to be built that way is my understanding.
My 5.7 gun is planned to have the storage locker box on the outside.

Still looks a little to wet for my liking, even though its dry.

Some more work done with more mud grass and vegetation to the base and fix the gun elevation in place and gloss coated the gun.

Repainted the base, glued both bases to each other and the gun to the track. Completed project at Finished Works.
