Glad to hear you're back in Mike.  Be sure to send me your full name so I can get the list to Scott.    We went over the proposed schedule yesterday and here is the thumbnail sketch.   We will arrive on base around 12:00 instead of the early morning as first thought.  Scott will take us to the bomb barn where we see how they arm the F-15's for combat sorties.  We will also go inside a KC-135 and go from cockpit to boom getting all the Q & A time we need.  We might see other aircraft on base but it's not locked in yet.   We should get to meet members of the 4th fighter wing and present some of them with the F-15 models that were built.  Scott said several of them are excited about getting their own hand sized F-15 to display.   Our tour will conclude with us straining our necks and covering our ears as we watch their guys do their stuff right over our heads.  Once again, we have space available so join up now if you want to go but also send me your full name and any title you have at work or with the model group.

Hello, Ronnie. It looks like the 13th will work for me after all, if there is still a vacant seat. Please advise me on this. Thanks.

Ronnie Murray

After speaking to Bill L., Lee K., Ben B., Tony L. and Hawk it looks like Thursday the 13th of May is going to be the day for Seymour Johnson AFB.   Ryan is still waiting for his boss to verify.  If you plan to attend I need for you to send me your full name and a work or model club title...(make one up if you feel like it).    P.S.  Hawk accidently dropped his P-51 again After taking it on the road for a lecture.  I'll get it and do the Humpty Dumpty on it again.

Looks like the scale is starting to tip towards Thursday but I still need more guys to chime in with their preference.  We still have room for more to attend so make the move and join us.

Thursday the 13th is the only day I can make of the two choices, and even that might be iffy.  I'll send an e-mail to you directly with the requested information.

email is in your mailbox...either day is ok for me.

Hello, Ronnie, Thanks for the update on the date. I'm going to pull out due to a work crunch that get worse closer to the end of that week. I am also having back issues from long car rides last week. Thanks for your hard work in coordinating this. If I get the Mud Hen finsihed in time, I'll get up with Tony or anyone else in Raleigh & take it over for delivery. Here's hoping that you guys have a blast. Mind your fingers around any real ejection seats!   Take lots of pictures. One piece of advice.. if you go into any hanger on the flight line that is being used by aircraft, you can't take flash pictures as far as I know, since there are light sensors that see the flash as an explosion & set off the fire suppression system. At least that was SOP about 7 years ago. Have fun!

Scott called yesterday, the AFB tour is still on but the date was altered due to an airshow at Shaw AFB.   We now have the choice of going on Wednesday the 12th or Thursday the 13th.   I need for those who plan to attend to give me a quick response with their choice of which day is best and include your full name and job title plus your title in the model group such as treasurer, vp, etc....    There are still two seats available but the time is drawing near so get on board.

May 10th is locked in as the date, Ben is now "in" and Ryan is awaiting clearance from his "Air Boss".  Each person going to the air base will have to provide certain info for the base security to review and I'll get that info soon.  By including Hawk we have filled 8 of the 10 available seats.  Please speak up now if you want to attend and we'll fill the final two seats.  If you have an F-15 model that you'd like to donate to the 4th Fighter Wing please contact somebody who is going and make arrangements......thanks.

A tour it is... My input would be to include Hawk and keep remaining priority with members who opted in and are bringing Jets.

I would agree. If the numbers become an issue, Hawk can take my seat.

Just waiting on work bosses ok.

Ronnie,

Does this mean the 10th is off and the 27th is on?

I spoke to Scott today, here's the good and bad news.    Good news is that it's looking real good and they have some neat stuff planned.  Other good news is that they allow base tours on the last Thursday of every month by appointment.   The bad news that we're only allowed to take 10 people....total.  I thought it sounded a bit odd when he said no limit so I wasn't too surprised to hear this.   Is it fair to say we do this is by first come first serve and that you need to be sure that you are indeed going?  The messages previous to this one indicate that the following have commited to going so far in this order.  Tony Leger, Lee Kolosna, Bill Leary, Mike MIttenzwei and myself. (5)  Ryan K and Ben B. showed interest but didn't give the 100% "I'm in" yet.  I know "Hawk" isn't one of members so I'm asking the club officers to help me decide how to handle this.  When I thought there was no limit on how many could go I invited him to join us.  He commited to "I'm in" instantly and is all jacked up about going because he knows people on the base.  Do I tell him he can't go so somebody from the group can or do I include him?
